Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram (erstwhile known as Jhargram University) is a public state-aided University and affiliated to the University Grants Commission, in the district of Jhargram, West Bengal, India. The University was established in 2018 as Jhargram University under “The Jhargram University Act, 2017”.

New Campus
The newly constructed Administrative-cum-Academic building of the University was inaugurated by the hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of West Bengal on September 05, 2022.
Afterwards, the temporary establishment of SRCMUJ from the Jhargram Raj College (Girls’ Wing) has been shifted to the University Campus at Jitusol and regular classes are being continued in the newly built Administrative-cum-Academic Building.

It is a matter of immense pride that the Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University is named after Kabi Guru Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu, the great poet of Santali Language.

Guest House
‘Jungle Kanya’, the Guest House of SRCMUJ, is a three-storied building situated adjacent to the Administrative-cum-Academic building.
The guest house is primarily meant for accommodating official guests of the University /participants of Seminars/ Workshops/ Conference coming from the different parts of our country and abroad.

Students are given the chance to travel and experience life overseas through study abroad programs. University life exposes students to other cultures and backgrounds.

The Jungle mahal region in Jhargram, an enriched locale of Folk Culture. A unique cultural heritage is noticed here in the form of folk dance, songs, etc., centering around different beliefs, rituals, social programs. Some of the main folk dances and folk songs of Jhargram are Bhuang Dance, Chang Dance, Chhou Dance, to mention a few.
